A Strong Truth
“So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.”
I’m in the process of bringing my ship in. The world does’nt want to hear all that Jesus says but it’s the truth. This is considered a hard saying,
So is the one, it lost him approx. 140 or so of his early disciples “you must drink my blood”. He means it in a spiritual sense, not literal of course.
“Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. “
The good news is with grace everyone that is called and decides for Christ will have some time. He tells the rich man sell what you have and he knows it takes a different amount of time for each person. Some people also feel the need for many years of formal education. For each person it is different you must pray on it. I believe I’ve been given a window of time and the field is getting ripe, but don’t let anyone but God force you. It’s all on his schedule.
“Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.“
If you want to live under grace and blessing you do have to belive in him and obey God. Jesus Christ does emphasize the need to do onto others as you would do unto yourselves. Also that everyone is our neighbor.
Man calls it being a devotee. Christ does’t give it a name but it’s how people lived during the early Church.
It’s described in the book of Acts.
Keep in mind there are certain blessings and powers that disciples and apostles have been given, each with increasing responsibilities and testings. Like this new commandment:
“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”
No matter who we are. We can all do more for the kingdom of God. Click link to story below:
